What can you expect at a Cana worship service?
An active and growing congregation
We are an inviting congregation committed to building disciples and serving others. We are blessed to be a growing congregation, and newcomers tell us the friendly and welcoming spirit is what draws them to our church. We are a church filled with “do-ers” excited to participate in worship, fellowship, and faith development. Morning worship is followed by a fellowship brunch where we enjoy catching up with friends and newcomers over pastries and coffee. After the children head to Cana Kids, many parents enjoy this time of “grown up” conversation with friends. Throughout the week you will find our members participating in Bible studies and service projects, organizing activities for our Cana Kids, and participating in fellowship opportunities to strengthen our relationships with each other.
Engaging and meaningful worship
We strive to put Christ at the center of all we do, including our worship. Our worship is contemporary in spirit while remaining rooted in the traditions that unite us with Christians throughout history.
This blend of old and new is reflected in our talented worship band. You can expect to hear them leading us through some of your favorite modern worship songs along with traditional hymns updated with a contemporary feel!
We incorporate elements of traditional worship that keep us focused on the universal, lasting truth of Christ, such as the Lord’s Prayer and Apostle’s Creed. Through the sermon, we strive to more fully understand Scripture and apply it to our lives.
Focus on family
Our congregation spans all generations, but most visitors notice right away the disproportionate number of young families in our church. Children are among God’s greatest blessings and we welcome their role in worship! Every worship service includes a children’s message. A nursery and private nursing-mothers’ room are available. The nursery is staffed by volunteers during the sermon. Many families take advantage of the nursery at some point during worship, but we believe worship is for everyone — including children!
After worship, Cana Kids (Sunday School) is offered for Pre-K through 5th graders. Our 6th through 8th grade students participate in Confirmation class weekly during the school year to study scripture on a deeper level and prepare to become confirmed members of the congregation.
At Cana, we think of our congregation as our “church family” and enjoy the connections and friendships formed here. Whatever your age, you will find welcoming people happy to include you in our family!
